UNTIL THE FOG HAS LIFTED

We cannot see clearly

Lately, my grandchildren’s school has been on a two-hour delay because of the thick fog in the morning. While the bus drivers are experts in driving in adverse conditions, the young people who drive to high school are not. It’s better to wait until the fog has lifted so they can see where they are going, and drive safely.

Have you ever been in, what is called, “pea soup” fog? Sometimes you cannot even see what is standing right next to you. When something comes at you out of the fog, you can’t even make out the shape until it is nearly upon you, and that can be a very scary situation.

I truly believe with all my heart that a great fog has settled over the floor of the Congress. They have eyes, but will not see, and ears, but will not hear. They have entered into a political arena in which games are played, but not to the benefit of the people and states which they represent. Each side wants to win some prize for themselves, but not for the betterment of the American people.

Anne Murray sang a song in 1983, called “A Little Good News”

A Little Good News

I rolled out this morning
Kids had the mornin’ news show on
Bryant Gumbel was talkin’ ’bout the fighting in Lebanon
Some senator was squawkin’ ’bout the bad economy
It’s gonna get worse you see, we need a change in policy

There’s a local paper rolled up in a rubber band
One more sad story’s one more than I can stand
Just once how I’d like to see the headline say
“Not much to print today, can’t find nothin’ bad to say”, because

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD’ed, nobody burned a single buildin’ down
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

I’ll come home this evenin’
I’ll bet that the news will be the same
Somebody takes a hostage, somebody steals a plane
How I want to hear the anchor man talk about a county fair
And how we cleaned up the air, how everybody learned to care
Whoa, tell me

Nobody was assassinated in the whole Third World today
And in the streets of Ireland, all the children had to do was play
And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA
We sure could use a little good news today

Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD’ed, nobody burned a single buildin’ down
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today.

It amazes me how pertinent that song still is today.  If they would just rule and live by laws that have been established and worked for over 200 years, and have made this country one of the greatest in the world, all our lives would be so much easier. Instead they make exceptions, bend or willingly break those laws to suit their own purpose. They do not realize that every time they do this they are weakening this country. Because you are red or blue should not exclude you from obeying the law, or seeing how much you can get away with. We need to be able to trust the people who are representing us and the states in which we live, not wondering what game they are playing and with whom they have made alliances. Is that asking too much? Before anyone is elected to either the House or the Senate, they should be required to take a test on the Constitution of the United States, and pass it.  How can someone represent the people and their state if they are not even versed in for what they stand? Am I being unreasonable or idealistic? It is too much to ask for common courtesies and respect when the President of United States is speaking? Is what you think more important that what the majority of the American population agreed on? Let’s bring civility back to Washington, because “We The People” don’t like the circuses that are being held there now.

As parents it is up to us to teach our children what the Constitution is and what it means. They must not be teaching that in school anymore, the latest swearing-in of the Congress is proof of that. Teach them to love and respect their country, but above all, what this country was founded on, God!

We as authors, must keep emotions out of what is being pushed down the throat of this country. Keep the facts straight and the truth in the forefront. Don’t get sucked into the sensationalism and the bravado of the paid protester and the people who have their own agendas. Fight for this great nation, and its liberties.

I apologize to anyone  whom I may have offended, but I have been offended by the actions of the people who are supposed to have our best interest at heart. WAKE UP AMERICA! Before it is too late!

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Matthew 13:13-15

And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.

And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.

And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?

Mark 8:14-21

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Jeremiah 5:26-29
