I am a mother of six children and grandmother to twenty one.  I have always enjoyed writing poetry and stories for my family.  I am now sharing them with all of you.

This is a new endeavor in writing for me.  I will be taking this slow, one day at a time, getting my feet wet as it were.  I welcome your comments and thoughts.

 

In a few short day, my mother will turn 98 years old.  As I am writing this blog, she is driving 35 miles to my home to spend the day with me.  We will sit and play Scrabble, Phase 10 and Skip-Bo.  She has forgotten more than I will ever know, even though her mind is still sharp.  She is the mother of 7, grandmother of 24, and great grandmother of over 50.  Let me tell you, she is a tough act to follow.  She is my biggest cheerleader, and toughest critic.  If I have learned anything from my mother it is to be faithful.  Not just to church, but to your husband, family and commitments.  She always put others first and because of her spirit of serving, she is well respected and loved.  Why, you ask, have I brought her up in this blog?  Because, I ask myself what I will I leave behind for my children and grandchildren?  Will it be faithfulness, service, reinforcement and tough love when needed?  At the end of each day, I want to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” (Matt 25:21)
