Can you read the weather?
When dark clouds roll across the sky do you grab an umbrella? Or have you ever quoted the old sailor’s warning, ‘Red sky at night sailors delight, red sky in the morning , sailors take warning?’ Does it prove to be true?
So we grab umbrellas for rain, windbreakers for blustery days, and parkas for wintry weather. We prepare for what we know is coming.
We as parents need to prepare our children for what is coming. We would never dream of letting them go out and play in the snow with no shoes on. Yet are we preparing them for eternal life? Read the Bible stories to them when they are young. Graduate to scriptures when they get older. If we love our children we will prepare them for everything in life, and the afterlife.
As authors, we may quote sayings like the one above. Research their Origins and give credit where credit is due.
He answered and said unto them, when it is evening, ye say, it will be fair weather : for the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be a foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O, ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky: but ye can not discern the sign of the times?
