TEST OF TIME

We live today in a throwaway society.

Those of us who have any age on them, know things are not made today like they were when we were children.  Our shoes were made of leather, and they were passed down form child to child not thrown out.  My mother still has a doll she got when she was five.  Which makes that baby doll ninety three years old.

In this picture, are three of my granddaughters, who, go to the same school.  Their spring program had a fifties theme this year.  Leah’s mom ordered her a skirt, which did not arrive on time.  At two o’clock I was asked if I could help.

I began feverishly sewing a poodle skirt and a crinoline to go underneath.  I got it finished in the nick of time, and she looked cute.  After the program, we took pictures of the girls.  Leah (in the glasses) is wearing the skirt hot off the sewing machine.  Jessica, (in the middle) is wearing a store bought outfit. Jacinda is wearing a skirt I made for her mother over twenty five years ago. It lasted the test of time.

The Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today, and forever!  What a comfort to know He lasted the test of time!

We as writers, put our thoughts and words down on paper to preserve them.  To make them become immortal, to last the test of time.  They are recorded, shared, remembered by one or by many.  This happens only if you write them down.  Just like the songs we sing that are decades old.  Make some history, write something today!!
