GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

How many times have you been in a situation where you are uncomfortable?

The story of Rahab has always amazed me.  Joshua sent spies into the town of Jericho to see if they could be defeated. The king found out they went to the house of Rahab (where she hid them on the roof) and called for her.  Rahab believed the spies worshiped the one true God, so she told the king she didn’t know where they were. It could have meant her death, but she stepped out of her comfort zone and stood for what she thought was right.

How many missed opportunities have we had because we have been afraid of making a mistake, or won’t come across as looking our best. I have a doll still in a box. I bought her to use as a model when making doll clothes.  Time constraints have kept me from using her and she is wasting away in her box.

We all need to get out of our boxes, beds, cliques or any other crutch we tend to use.  I am not talking about everyone jumping aboard ships and going to the mission fields, but how about the mission fields here at home?  Like a Sunday school classroom, or leaving a track on a table in a restaurant? Even better living what you believe. Would we be like the girl at Columbine and admit we are Christians if it were to mean our death?

As parents we need to teach our children that we need to live every day the way we believe. To act like Jesus is walking right next to us, because in reality, he is.  Tell them because Rahab was faithful she and her whole family were saved.

We as authors sometimes stay within the walls of safety.  What do you think would happen to your career if you stepped out of your comfort zone?

Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token:   And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.  And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.  Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

    post title that grabbed a person’s attention? I mean GET OUT OF YOUR

    You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create article titles to get
    people interested. You might try adding a
    video or a related pic or two to grab people excited about
    everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little
    bit more interesting.
