LIFE OR DEATH?

Did you ever find yourself in a life and death moment?

When I was about eight years old, I was floating on a raft on Dewart Lake. At the time I didn’t know how to swim, but loved the water.  I had floated out to a point where I could not touch the bottom, and fell off the float.  Panic ensued because I went under and thought I was going to die.  I grabbed for the raft and managed to kick my way back to the shallows. Relieved I could touch again, I was grateful for the life saving float.

Our lives are in peril every day from things that will kill both body and soul. The question I would ask is if you have any kind of life saver? A good friend, church, the Bible, Jesus that you can hold on to during your trials?  Someone to hold you accountable for your actions that will keep you out of danger? We are constantly under the barrage of temptation, danger and the evils of this world. How do we cope during these times if we are all alone?

The Bible tells us alone we are weak, two are stronger, but three cannot be broken.  That third piece should be Jesus Christ who will give us the strength to get through anything.  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

As parents we need to teach our children to resist temptation, like lying, not sharing, and temper tantrums. There is power in prayer. To lean on Jesus for strength. We need to be their life savers.  They need to know they can tell us anything, anytime, anywhere.  It could be the difference between LIFE AND DEATH.

We as writers have the hero come and save the day or be the life saver if you will. Make sure in your own life you have someone you can count on too.

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Matthew 14:29-31
