ARE YOU BLOOMING?

Have you ever felt you were born in the wrong time and place?

How does that make you feel?  Are you always finding fault in everything and everyone?  Are all your troubles caused by someone else? Do you ever take responsibility for what happens in your life? Or are there always extenuating circumstances?

Those were a lot of questions, how many did you answer yes to? Lets’ stop and reflect how you got to this stage in your life.  There have been some things in your life that you had no power over, like where or to whom you were born. But after that many of the life choices have been yours.  Did you skip school, or study hard? Did you hang out with the cool rough kids, or the ‘A’ students who were considered geeks? Were your goals in school to win fame in glory through sports, and learning was secondary?  These were your choices. Many of today’s athletes have made decisions to honor God even in their sports. Tim Tebow has never been shy about honoring God during his career as a NFL quarterback, and now in his baseball debut, where he has blisters on his hands from practicing. He was often made fun of by the press and his teammates, but he has never wavered from his faith in Jesus Christ, and he blooms where ever he finds himself.

My blog is too short to list all the people in sports, business, and entertainment that maintain their faith and live for Christ, blooming where they are planted. Doing their best no matter the circumstances, and everyday trying to be better, to get better at whatever they are doing.

As parents we need to teach our children, that everything they do is worth doing right.  And to God give the glory for any abilities they may have and can build upon. Again, the best way to teach anything is by example.  Be the best dad, mom, aunt uncle, garbage man, professor, teacher, whatever your calling, do your very best every day and give God the glory!

We as writers have found ourselves making a character rise from the ashes like a phoenix to become something bigger, better, and stronger because they fought for it through hard work and determination.  Let’s take a cue from them and never lose our determination.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

 To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Psalms 92:12-15

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalms 1:3
