Do you have keepsakes to help you remember?
I am quite amazed the citizens of these United States are allowing the disintegration of this countries landmarks. Is it the citizens who are calling for the demolition of these artifacts? Did you know there are laws as far back as 1906 (P.L. 38, 59th Congress, Chap. 631-34 Stat. 56) Honoring and protecting our fallen ancestors? And it has been reaffirmed in 1929, and 1958, and again by Dwight D. Eisenhower. How is it then, people can blatantly fall under pressure, (from who knows where) finding part of our history offensive? That is why it is call History! It actually happened. The ground was soaked with blood from people (regular people) dying for a cause. We tie yellow ribbons around trees for our soldiers. Do this in remembrance! Like Auschwitz, memorials were set up, so it would never happen again, so we would REMEMBER!
There is another symbol of remembrance we revere, the cross. So we remember a Saviour came to save us. This will never happen again, it was a once in a life time event. This country was based on that promise, and religious principle. Because we were what was considered a Christian nation, we thrived, and were blessed. People flocked to come here, to become an American. To the land of the free and the home of the brave. Now people are here to change and corrupt these freedoms. To demand things they have no right to. The sad thing is we are allowing it to happen. We do not shout in outrage or disgust. We have not written our congressmen or president. We watch paid protesters demand things, while we sit quietly by, and watch as the America we know and love is ripped away right in front of our very eyes.
Now they find the cross offensive. They want it removed from churches and universities. If we turn our back on God will he turn his back on us? Something to think about!
As parents we need to teach our children to remember. Jesus came from a place in glory and soaked the ground with his blood for our redemption. When we take the cup and the bread, which symbolizes his body and blood, to remember what it cost to have freedom from eternal damnation.
As writers we have the opportunity to defend and clarify the history of this great nation. It is an honor to have this responsibility and we need to do it without falling under the pressure of political correctness, or what some people may consider what is or is not offensive.
And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.
And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?
Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
Joshua 4:20-22
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:19
