DO YOU SUFFER IN THE HANDS OF THE WORLD?

Are you a target for everything life can throw at you?

I admit, sometimes I feel like the whole universe is against me! Just when I think I have things under control another thing pops up as if on cue, to mess things up again.  Why does this keep happening? I try to live a clean wholesome life, but there are days I wish I was a sailor because there would be a word or two I would let slip. I want to scream, shout, and then I kind of pout a bit, maybe even let a tear or two fall, because face it, somethings are too big for you and me to sort out.

That’s when I take a deep breath and quit tilting at windmills. I have to submit and turn control over to the Lord and trust in his plan for my life.  After all, he has given me everything I need to solve most of my problems, if I will apply the things he has given me instead of blaming everyone, and everything.

Even Shakespeare understood this paradox when he penned;  Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer. The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles … “To suffer” means “to do nothing,” which is what the man of virtue was supposed to do when seized by the lust for revenge.

It is amazing to me how the world just goes on turning no matter how deep my sorrow or how big my troubles are.  It puts things into perspective, the world does not revolve around me. To survive I will submit to the one who keeps everything spinning, just as it should. He is my Rock, and my Shield, why do I ever worry?

As parents we need to teach our children to be vigilant in their daily prayers for guidance in their lives. The Bible tells us to take our problems to the Lord in prayer. If he is for us, who can be against us? Can be a powerful mantra!

We as writers keep our characters in a constant state of flux, often never knowing what will come next.  In a story this only adds to the excitement, but in life it can be overwhelming.

 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:10

 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

I Peter 3:14

  1. Keep believing! He will see you through it all, even these things which truly test your faith and spirit. You are strong and you fight. You have since I’ve known you. And Joyce, don’t ever forget you have family and friends who believe in you. Always.
