HAVE YOU EVER BEEN PRAISED FOR A JOB WELL DONE?

How did it make you feel to have your peers give you accolades?

We should always try to do our best, regardless of what we are doing.  Playing baseball, or cleaning toilets, nothing but our best will do.  This was the mantra of my home as a child, no matter what we were doing, we were expected to do our best.  Did I always accomplish that feat? NO!  Was it for lack of trying? Yes! Complacency is like a cancer, it can eat away at everything you do.  Until you don’t even recognize what our best is anymore. What has happened in your life to cause this change? Did you stay up too late watching TV, which made you tired and crabby this morning? What can we do to get back to having pride in what we do?

Can you paint a sunset or sunrise? Do you copy it from a picture? Or maybe from one you have seen over the mountains, or ocean. The truth is you are only copying the handy work of God. Your imagination can not fathom the beauty of God’s brush strokes. He does his best every single day in and day out.  He also gave us his best, his son to die for our sins. He loves us and wants to hear from his children, like all parents do.

Thank God, yes, thank God in the morning when you wake up and see a beautiful sunrise. Or at the end of the day, when you see a sunset, thank God for another day of your life. And use the life he gave you to do your best at all you do.  You will get a sense of accomplishment, and pride in what you do.

As parents we need to teach our children that every day is a gift from God, and should not be taken for granted. God loves them and all good things come from God. So, we need to teach them to be thankful and praise God for his mercy and grace.

We as writers often set a love scene with the backdrop of a sunrise or sunset. The beauty just enhances the romance. When was the last time you thanked him for his majesty?

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.

The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high,

Psalm 113:3-5
