How often have you heard this saying?
Did you know it is verse in the Bible? It like other saying has been around for centuries because it is true. It is a fact that has been proven time and time again. Does this mean all children should be beaten? Of course not! But there is always a proper time for correction, whatever form that may take.
We watch the television these days and see rioters and protesters disregarding the laws and the police. We are desensitizing our youth to the disrespect of the laws of the land because they never see a single person arrested and prosecuted for the laws they blatantly break on television. Why? Who is protecting these protesters? Who is having the mayors tell the police to ‘stand down’ instead of keeping the people and the businesses safe which is what they are paid to do. Why are we tying the hands of our military and law enforcement officers? It is time to take off the rose-colored glasses and find out what is really going on.
This country has always encouraged peaceful protest, which is our right. But things have gone way past peaceful or right. Being in this country is a privilege and an honor. Because we, in the past have respected everyone else’s rights, someone is undermining this great nation. It is slow and methodical, but devastating none the less. WAKE UP AMERICANS!!! Just because you don’t like someone or something should never empower you to take the law into your own hands. We the people can change things like history has proven. Don’t let anti-Americans ruin what we like to call my country, ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave.’
As parents we need to teach our children to obey their parents and to obey the law of the land. I have always told my children if it is not immediate, it is not obedience. You can call it compliance, concession or whatever, but you cannot call it obedience. Sometimes obedience (the immediate kind) can mean life or death to your child. If you tell them to stop, but they are used to being told two or three times they could be dead in the street because of their compliance. Think about it!
We as writers most always have a reaction to a wrongdoing. Whether it be by our main characters or an acquaintance, recompense is always forthcoming.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
