Do you ever feel as if you are up a creek without a paddle?
Life can get pretty intense sometimes. Your mind and body feel like it is under a two ton weight. You seriously don’t know how much more you can take before you snap. It may be health issues you or a loved one have, or finances that seem insurmountable. Your child may be in a bad relationship, or have a substance abuse problem. Whatever the trials you are facing, you feel as though you are out on life’s sea drifting out of control. And we all love to be in control.
Well, I have good news for you! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to look into God’s word to find a promise that, if we are children of God, we will not be tested more than we can handle. Sometimes, things get pretty heavy and we wonder if our prayers go any higher than the ceiling, but I promise you they do! He has a greater plan than the simple things we see with our mono vision. Our faith in the Lord is our weightlifter. Others will watch us to see if walk the walk or just talk the talk. They want to know if we have any substance behind out faith. Let’s show them what our God can do!
As parents we need to teach our children to run to the father! To their earthly father for the wisdom he gleans from the Bible and helping his children stay on the path that will keep them safe physically, mentally and spiritually. By example teach them they can run to the Lord who is a tower of strength, day in and day out.
As writers we let our characters usually find strength in the hero of the story. Let us be diligent to keep these heroes with good moral standards.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I Corinthians 10:13
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10
