WHAT KIND OF FOOL ARE YOU?

Have you ever done anything foolish in your life?

In today’s world you can’t really escape being caught in a foolish act.  There are people and cameras everywhere.  Have you misspoken, worn something that garnered ridicule, or in your youth, tried to impress your friends by doing something dumb?  Let’s face it we all have, at one time or another.  We all wish we could take those few moments back that led us to a place we would never live down.  Do your friends from high school start a conversation with, ‘remember when you?’ and all you can do is wish everyone would forget the whole thing.

The truth is you can’t take it back, un-live the moment or erase anyone’s memory, the act is there to stay. We all have 20/20 hind sight not that does us any good. But it can keep us from making the same mistake again. And giving council to those who are about to make the same or even bigger mistake in the name of being popular or stupid.

There is one foolish act in our lives that we can take back, completely and totally. The denial of Jesus Christ.  The act of denying Christ would be the most foolish act you ever committed and one that will never be forgotten. The aftermath of such a foolish act is eternal damnation. The Bible has given us 20/20 foresight, so we never have to live with that foolish act!

As parents we need to teach our children, the wages of sin is death.  That is an eternal death away from Jesus Christ.  Who do you depend on leading your children to Christ? Should that monumental decision be left to the teaching of strangers? Who is being foolish now?

We as writers often write about something our characters do they wish they could take back. This makes them vulnerable and easier to identify with.  What foolish acts have you done in your life, any that has a dear price?

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Psalms 14:1-3

For there is not a just man upon earth who doeth good and sinneth not.

Ecclesiastes 7:20

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23
