Who is pulling your strings in life?
Do you ever feel like a puppet on a string, dancing to someone else’s tune? Or that you are on a merry-go-round that is out of control? Can someone please stop the music and let you off? Are you going through life dizzy and out of control? Who is your puppet master? Is it pressure from work, the IN crowd, or people who you thought were your friends, but are on the same ride you are on. Round and round you go, with no future and no goal in life. Pretending to be happy and satisfied to be one of the IN crowd, with no one telling you what to do. Is the music so hypnotic that you can’t break free? What are you going to do when the music finally stops and you find out you have wasted your whole life chasing a brass ring that is forever out of reach?
JUMP!! That’s right jump off and roll to safety. Have you ever heard the expression, ‘can’t see the forest for the trees’? That is what your life is like while in the midst of anxiety and confusion. Afraid of missing something, or being tied down, not fulfilling all your dreams. How about not being able to find Mr. or Mrs. Right. Looking for love in all the wrong places, or what you think love is according to society.
While you have the chance cut the puppet master’s strings, find some wholesome people to be friends with, unplug the juke- box and run for safety, before you turn around and find your life wasted and spent.
As parents we need to teach our children not to be caught up in the trends of the world. To seek God’s will and use the talents he gives them to make their dreams come true while still honoring God. Remember to be the parent, and guide them while they are young. It is easier to train a young sapling to grow straight, than to reshape a mighty oak.
We as writers get to do the impossible on paper. Go back in time, fall into boatloads of money that will solve everyone’s troubles. Let someone have an epiphany, and change the course of their life. If only that were that easy in real life!
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Mark 7:21-23
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Timothy 2:26
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:12-13
