How disappointed are you when you get somewhere and find it closed?
Sometimes no matter how we hurry, time gets away from us. We arrive just as a business is locking the door, and believe me, we are not happy about it. If they only knew what kind of a day we are having they would be more sympathetic towards us. They would unlock the door and wait just on us. Ha Ha Ha. In what world are you living in? The fact of the matter is, if you think back on your day you would recognize that you wasted a few minutes here and there. More than enough time to make it before they lock the door for the day. But we seem to think our time is more valuable than those whom have spent all day on their feet waiting on the likes of us. After all, don’t they know who we are? No, who are you?
One day you will be out of time at the end of the very last day of your life. You will make a mad dash to the pearly gates and see a closed sign. You begin pounding, and an angel comes to see what the ruckus is all about. “I am just a few minutes late, I meant to take care of my Salvation, but I had so much to do, I didn’t realize it was getting so late.
The angel looks down at the book of Life and says, I’m sorry, your name is not written here, and you may not come in.” That’s when you get indignant and tell what kind of a busy life you had and everything you had to do, and no one would help you bla, bla, bla! The fact of the matter is: Jesus is standing at the door of your heart knocking to come in. All you have to do is open the door. Anywhere any time and any place, just say yes!
As parents we are the ones who are responsible for teaching our children about Jesus Christ. Do you really want to depend on someone else for something so crucial? Read the Bible with them every day, and help them realize how Jesus loved them so much he died for them. Time is ticking!
We as writers are always up against a time schedule, with deadlines and publication requirement. Don’t let time slip away from you!
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:”
Luke 13:25
