I have been known to take a supplement or two.
I am like my mother in the fact that I take supplements of vitamins and minerals that my body lacks due to eating habits. (She lived to be 98 years old) According to some nutritionist you have to nearly eat a bushel basket of some food to get the daily recommended amount of vitamins required. And some of those foods I just don’t like! So, I take a supplement or two to boost what my diet is deficient in. Every person is different, and their body doesn’t use or produce what another person does. So how do you know what to take? Do a little research and know what your body weight and type requires. Of course any time you can get these vitamins and minerals naturally it will be assimilated better and be more beneficial to you.
What do you substitute in your life in place of what spiritual food you need? Do you follow every wave of the latest popular feel good religion? Do you join causes to save the dogs, cats, whales, trees etc…, looking for something to give your life meaning, and empowerment? Why do feel the need to supplement your life’s worth with worldly accomplishments? The great commission tells us to; Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; The Word of God is our smorgasbord for life, everything we need is found within to give us a heathy, happy life.
As parents we need to teach our children to never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. And, to hide God’s word in their hearts, to give them all the strength they will ever need throughout their life.
We as writers supplement phrases and quotes to make what we write more understandable and readable. Just so we don’t supplement the meaning of important things with benign rhetoric to make them more politically correct.
