This will be the REAL big bang theory!
One of my favorite seasons is the fall. When God takes his paint brush and begins yet another master piece. The crunching of leaves, the smell of them burning, just makes my heart glad! And to think, if what people say is true, it will all be over tomorrow. That’s right, according to the astrologers, soothsayers and palm readers, today is our last day on earth. Do you think someone should tell God what is going to happen? Oh, wait, he knows and has it all planned. He knew before you or I were even born when he will return. So, what are you going to do about it? Make us stop driving our cars? Maybe less pollution will hold back what is coming. The only thing that will give us another chance at redemption is: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If, and I mean IF, what they say is even remotely possible about the world ending tomorrow, what will you do? Take all your money out of the bank today so you can bribe your way to heaven? Sorry it doesn’t work like that. All it takes to escape the coming apocalypse, (which will make the big bang theory look like a bug fart), is: ‘call upon the name of the Lord and thou shall be saved.’
That’s all there is to it. Know you are a sinner, believe that Jesus was born as our sacrifice for sin, and ask him into your heart, to be your Saviour. It is the great equalizer. Money, fame, intelligence, nothing else matters but believing and accepting the gift of eternal salvation. Pure and simple, written out in the pages of God’s Word, time and time again. And make no mistake, it is going to happen, but we don’t know when. The question is, will you be ready when it does?
As parents, our children’s salvation was and is our responsibility. How serious have you taken this responsibility? You say you love your children, but are you willing to let them suffer eternal damnation because they were never told about the Way, the Truth, and the LIFE. That means eternal LIFE!
We as writers have enjoyed careers of apocalyptic stories. How the hero of the story saves his loved ones by his own super dedication and relentless efforts. Well, the real hero of this story gave HIS life to save the whole world! Now that is something to write about!
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
