Do you rely on a global position system to get you where you want to go?
I am thrilled to be able to find my way in busy cities all by myself (with the help of a GPS). By yourself you can inadvertently drive into a very dangerous area. With the GPS system I feel rather confident that I will arrive at my destination without having to worry. But I found out that the GPS is not foolproof. If there is a place with nearly the same address, or if you put one letter or one digit in it wrong it can send you in the wrong direction. Or if you lose signal and don’t even notice it, it will just track where you are going, and you not realizing you are driving blind, just assuming the arrow on the screen knows where it is going. It can be miles before you realize you are not heading for your destination. How do you choose which way to get to your destination? Map Quest, an Atlas, a compass, or an internal sense of direction? Or do you do eenie meenie miny mo, this is the way I choose to go?
Well, I have found a perfect, fail proof GPS system! You will never head in the wrong direction, no matter time of day, or weather, or magnetic compass heading. Perfect every time! God’s Plan of Salvation. This GPS has been fool-proof for millenniums! What a relief to know no matter how turned around I get in life, my Spiritual GPS is always on track, and all I have to do is go back to the map (Bible) and it is all spelled out for me there! Phew! One less thing to worry about!
As parents we need to teach our children to depend on the path God sets for them, and it can be found in the Bible. Teach them to have a daily conversation with God through his Word and through prayer. We can depend on it never wavering from the right way.
We as writers can become confused, with all the timing, characters and places in our plot, unless we have an outline, or path, to follow. Like a GPS for writers, these will usually keep us on course.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
Proverbs 21:2
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
Psalm 18:30
