More and more Doctors are telling us to drink more water.
Somehow drinking more water has become paramount to good health. The funny thing about this is as a kid that is all we drank. Then came the introduction of Kool-Aid, and with that sugar. The added sugar spoiled the pureness of the water, but the sweetness was addictive. Soda pop is like Kool-Aid, with a little added fizz, which was exciting. Again, this drink, just like sweet tea can be addictive! It is not that we drink less water, we just drink polluted water! What the ads should say, is drink more unpolluted water for better health.
The same can be said about our lives. We don’t drink the pure water of life. That can only come from God. It is freely given to us if we accept Christ as our own personal Saviour. It has often been called the ‘springs of living water’ just like in this song: Springs of Living Water
I thirsted in the barren land of sin and shame,
And nothing satisfying there I found;
But to the blessed cross of Christ one day I came,
Where springs of living water did abound.
Chorus
Drinking at the springs of living water,
Happy now am I, my soul they satisfy;
Drinking at the springs of living water,
O wonderful and bountiful supply.
How sweet the living water from the hills of God,
It makes me glad and happy all the way;
Now glory, grace and blessing mark the path I’ve trod,
I’m shouting Hallelujah every day.
That’s right, if we drink from the living water, will never thirst again.
Pretty cool, what that will give you is eternal good health!
As parents we need to teach our children to eat and drink healthy things! To know that their bodies are, the temple of God, which is not their own. The best way to do this is by example, and I know it is hard. But both of you will benefit from the effort!
We as writers can only hope there is a well-spring of ideas and stories buried deep within our minds that will spring forth at any moment. All I can say is just keep going to the well!
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:10-14
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Revelation 22:1
