LEST WE FORGET

How far have we come from what this country was founded on?

I really wasn’t worried about the end of the world, I had it covered.  The Bible is very plain about how to secure your eternal future.  Were you worried?  Was there a fleeting moment when you wondered, what if…? Well we missed that bullet, as they say.  Now you can plan your bucket list of things to do and places to go.  Birthday and Anniversary parties, cruises and who to grow old with, or can you?

Do you think the end of the world is the only thing you have to worry about?  Is there cancer, heart disease, diabetes or Parkinson’s disease in your family? Are you sure about your tomorrows? Will you live a different life now that the apocalypses has been postponed?

This country’s laws were founded on the Ten Commandments, because these are the elements of basic human kindness. It is how decent people live and treat each other, plain and simple! How can anyone find that offensive?  Can you live by these simple ten laws of human behavior?

If tomorrow never comes, what will be your legacy? What will you leave behind? A legacy of love, ambition, deceit, philanthropy, bigotry, honesty, service?  Are you ready for the future? Do you have a future after this life is over?

As parents we need to teach our children to remember, lest we forget, what Jesus sacrificed for us, and why we need a Saviour. To live as closely as we can to the Ten Commandments, always using Bible to guide us.

We as writers have many rules we are supposed to follow in writing.  They were made to keep our sentences from running on, and our thoughts clearly understood.Rules in our lives also keep us healthy and productive.  The Golden Rule is one of my favorites.

Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

Deuteronomy 4:23

Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

 (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Deuteronomy 6:12-15

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
