MY HIGH TOWER

Where were you on 9/11/01?

Today is the 16th anniversary of the attack of the World Trade Center in New York. It was not only an attack on those towers, but on the USA and what we stand for. How did you feel when you heard the reports? Was it disbelief, sorrow, anger? How do you feel now? Benign, passive, blasé, or compassionate, irate, wary? We promised never to forget, yet now we pretended that this was done by just a few zealots.  The truth of the matter is there is a whole sect of people out there who have repeatedly attacked not only this country, but the people in it.  They are slowly and methodically stripping away our Christian and American rights, while we turn a blind eye and say it will never happen in America. We are giving away our freedom to worship, carry a Bible, sing the National Anthem and display our country’s history.  Wake up America! Before it is too late and there will be another date you will have to remember, THE DEATH OF AMERICA!

I am so glad I have a strong tower I can run to that cannot be destroyed by airplanes or politics, Jesus Christ. I will remember the day he died on the cross and better yet, the day he rose from the dead to give me the gift, and assurance of everlasting life. What do you put your trust in?  The country’s politicians and military? Or a Saviour who is the same yesterday, today and forever!? The choice is yours.

As parents we need to teach our children about our countries proud heritage and all its flaws. We learn from our past, but the past cannot be swept under the rug. The past actually happened, we are this great nation because of it not in spite of it. Tell them how our greatest presidents had a close relationship with God.  He guided them, and through prayer he will guide our children.

We as writers can help our country remember not only 9/11/01 but other important dates and the reason for them like the 4th of July, etc… It is up to us to carry the torch blazing for our American Freedom.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Proverbs 18:10

 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 18:2

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Psalms 91:1-5
