What would you do if this was your last day on earth?
Who would you want to see, call or visit? Would you spend the day righting wrongs, praying, singing, being with family and friends? WHAT WOULD YOU DO? In a twinkling of an eye you would be standing in front of God trying to explain to him how he does not exist. How money or having a good time was your god. After all, you never saw God and none of your friends think he is real, and you didn’t want to be made fun of. Maybe these are things you should be thinking about, after all, today is supposed to be the last day as we know it. If all the experts are right, and the stars have aligned themselves properly, we are done for.
I am so glad I put my trust in God and not the experts of the day. My God is still in control of all he has made, and it will be on his say when it will all come crashing down. One of the hymns I learned as a young girl was: WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER.
1 When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
and the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
when the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain:
When the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
2 On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
and the glory of His resurrection share;
then His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. [Refrain]
3 Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun;
let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. [Refrain]
These are words to live by. Let us labor for the Master, talk of his wondrous love and care, and when it is over, I’ll be in heaven. No questions asked. Because I believed the Bible when it told me; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10
As parents we were given a precious gift in the way of a child. With that gift comes responsibilites, to love and care for them. To always want what is best for them, and what could be better than an eternity in heaven? Are you up to the task of teaching them how to get there? It is all right there in the Word.
We as writers can always improve on any of our works. Maybe it is time to improve on our lives, and be the best we can be!
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
