GOD PROVIDES!

God has blessed us greatly, let us be thankful.

We live in a country that is truly blessed by God. It is my belief, that because this country was founded on the right to worship God freely, and he has always had a place of prominence in our society, that he has blessed us. The less prominence we give him, the worse this country gets. We are a people of extremes, and it is hard to know where to draw the line. One line that is easy to draw is in the area of our gluttony. The government has tried to step in to tax soda pop to stop the problem of obesity in this country. We all know that will not work, just look at the taxes they put on cigarettes and liquor. It may slow the problem down, but if a person or people want it bad enough, they will get it. So, what is the answer? Character! We have to decide for ourselves what is good for us, but more than that, what would be pleasing to the LORD. We are privileged in this country in the fact we can walk into any store and have an abundance of food at our fingertips. Does that mean we should be glutinous? Only if your gluttony glorifies God. The Bible is very clear about God giving us his blessings on eating the things he has provided. Yet, some people think they know more than God, and raise an alarm about not eating: meat, dairy, eggs etc.. If you, in your personal life choose to eat or not eat something, it is up to you and your convictions. But let us be very careful not to impose our will, (and the will of God) onto other people.

We all know about the seven deadly sins. But the truth is ALL sin is deadly. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. I know this may all seem simplistic to you, but search yourself and see if there is something in your life that you obsess with. It doesn’t always have to be food. Sometimes your opinion can be something you try to impose on other people. I could keep going on examples, but that would be redundant. The gist of all this is, be grateful you live in this country, where you can worship freely. Have political opinions and opinions about what you should and should not eat. But in all this remember who gave you these freedoms, the solders whose blood soaked this soil. But before that ever happened, remember whose blood soaked the soil at the foot of the cross, so freedom from eternal condemnation could be yours. Be thankful, each and every day for the bounty of God’s love.

As parents we need to teach our children not to waste anything. Teach them to be thankful for the food on their plate and the clothes on their backs. Donate to food pantries, and clothing to charitable institutions. Make them realize how truly blessed they are and thank God daily for his blessings in their lives.

We as authors have a platform that enables us to bring the plight of the poor in this country to light. We live in a land of plenty, and it is a shame that there are children hungry here. Let’s fix the problems of this country before we try to fix the worlds problems. With your exposure, we can get a lot done.

And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Acts 10:11-13
Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
John 21:10-13
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Colossians 2:16
