JUST A CLOSER WALK

Don’t you just love to take walks?

Is there anything more relaxing than a walk on a beautiful autumn day?  It seems like the world just melts away as you stroll along and look at all the marvelous colors! The only thing that can make it better is having someone you love walking beside you.  But what happens when you have an argument?  Somehow the colors become muddled and the day not so beautiful. The argument was probably over something insignificant, but it escalated into more and the mood is ruined. Or what if you are on this walk and you become frightened, it is always nice to have someone there to hold your hand, and ease your fears, and keep you from stumbling.

Good news! There is someone just like that! Jesus! Just like the song says:

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE

I am weak but Thou art strong
Jesus keep me from all wrong
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee

Just a closer walk with Thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to Thee
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be

When my feeble life is o’er
Time for me will be no more
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom’s shore, to Thy shore

Just a closer walk with Thee
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea
Daily walking close to Thee
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be

We need a comforter, a counselor, and the prince of peace.  Those are things we need in our lives on a daily basis. We can have all these things and more if we spend each and every day in the presence of God.  Meet and greet him in the morning, with a simple, good morning, I love you, let’s spend the day together. If I challenge you to try this for one week would you do it?  Then be honest with yourself and ask yourself if this week has been better than one you have had in a long time!

As parents we can help start our children’s day off right, with a simple prayer with them for guidance and protection. Make sure they are thankful for all the blessings in their life, which can be expressed over a meal.  Help them cultivate a close personal walk with Jesus.

We as writers must have a close relationship with our characters so they can develop into what we have envisioned for them. Don’t you think we deserve the same thing in our own personal life?

He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Micah 6:8

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk ye in him:

Colossians 2:6

For we walk by faith, not by sight:

 2 Corinthians 5:7

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Isaiah 30:21
