Are your problems insurmountable?
There are some days when I want to pull the covers over my head and just give up! Those are the days when I am trying to figure out how I am going to solve the problems I am facing. I try doing it on my own, by myself, because I can be a control freak sometimes. I get broken down, discouraged, and ready to give up! I know that I will not be able to accomplish what needs to be done mentally or physically, and is a hard blow to a super mom. When my children were small their problems were small, the bigger they got, the bigger their problems got and now that they are on their own, I am powerless to solve any problems they might incur.
How short sighted I have become! I have never been able to solve problems by myself. I have always taken them to the Lord in prayer, and I am still able to do that. No matter the age of my children, their children or the personal and financial problems I might face, I still have the help of the Lord if I go to him in prayer.
When did I get so egotistical that I thought I could or should solve these or any problems on my own! Not just my problems, but the country’s problems can be taken to the Lord in prayer. The Bible tells us to pray for those in power. It did not qualify that with, ‘if you like them’, just, ‘pray for them!
Well there you have it! Courage for another day, because I am not alone in my plight, large or small. I have, will have and have always had Christ by my side to see me through everything!
As parents we need to teach our children that they are never alone, and they can take everything to God in prayer. You must also teach them patience, because things happen in God’s perfect timing. Help them cling to the verse in the Bible that tells them he will never leave them.
We as writers try to solve problems with the intervention of a hero. How refreshing would it be to see a character solve a problem through prayer and perseverance?
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Hebrews 13:5-6
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
Isaiah 26:3-4
