NO PROGRESS CAN BE MADE WITHOUT FORWARD MOTION

You can’t move forward, until you take it out of park!

Have you ever found yourself in a rut? You have done the same thing over and over expecting things to be different, creating a deep rut you don’t know how to get out of. If I am not mistaken that is the definition of insanity. So how do we change? How about putting someone or something else first in your life.  I am not saying don’t take care of yourself, but take yourself off center stage.  How about volunteering at church, to clean, teach, or make funeral dinners.  Helpers are always needed in nursing homes, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, even habitat for humanity. Run a marathon for charity. Keep your mind busy with other things besides yourself.

Some people have suffered traumatic shock, and can’t seem to move past that point in their lives. I do not profess to know what that is like, or understand what each person is going through, but I do know that remaining at that point will retard healing.  They have to move forward.  This is something we all have to do in our lives.  Losing a young vital healthy son was something I personally had to move past.  I don’t know how others have accomplished this but this is what I did.  I gave it over to the Lord, and knew he had a greater plan in mind than the one I was seeing or could understand.  He has promised in the Bible to answer all our questions about why things happen, the way they do, when we see him in Heaven.  I trust in the promises of God.  Without them I could have not moved forward in my life. It is also reassuring that whatever trauma we go through, he has gone through. Losing a Son, being beaten, laughed at, called names, or bullied if you will, spit upon, killed.  The Bible calls him the Counselor, and Prince of Peace.

To all the people who have suffered trauma of any kind in the past or present, give it over to the Lord, He KNOWS what you are going through “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Remember what happened to Lot’s wife when she stopped her forward motion: “But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”  So, don’t ever stop, keep moving!

As parents we need to teach our children that they can overcome anything with the help of Jesus and the promises he gave them in the Bible.  A good way to do this is make sure they have a good Bible and help the read and understand it.

We as writers can often suffer from writers block.  For some reason we just can’t seem to move past it, so we get up and go do something else.  Staring at a blank page has never helped us move forward in our story.

The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

Job 17:9

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isiah 43:18-19

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1 Peter 5:8
