TIME TO GO!

How do they know?

I am very predictable. Everyone knows what my favorite things are. Chocolate, music, writing, fairies and hummingbirds.
Hummingbirds are to me, a constant reminder that God loves me. In the spring I put my feeders out the end of April. I know that on the first of May the little hummers will be hitting those feeders hungrily. I know because I have watched them year after year. Just as I know they will leave me in October. This too has been time tested, with repetition year after year. But how do they know when it is time to come and when it is time to leave? The weather is never the same, sometimes spring comes late, sometimes fall comes early.
Some of you may think it is evolution. Some may think it is a mere coincidence, but I know the real reason. It was God’s planning and his perfect will, that these tiny creatures would fly hundreds of miles to live their best days on earth. Where they would find the best food at the best time, thus thriving. It is the most rewarding thing to sit and watch these little miracles hover over the feeders, then fly backwards, dart and dive at tremendous speeds. They never fail to brighten my day, no matter what is praying on my mind.
Our heavenly father has given us a guide to know exactly where to go and when so we can have a our best days on this earth and after. It tell us what to eat to be strong and healthy, what to drink, when to rest, all for our well being. So I have to ask, why don’t we listen? Who do we listen to? How is that working for all of us? Why do we make things so difficult? All we have to do is open his book, (the Bible) and take a look. It doesn’t cost a thing. But the rewards will be gratifying.
As parents we need to teach our children, Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God, so their days will be plentiful on the earth. Be a good example by not indulging in things that are not good for you. Feast on his manna (the Word) and drink from his fountain, (His sacrifice on the cross), and your days will be blessed and so will your children.
We as writers often skim over the wonders of nature in our stories. I know I am going to try to expound on these wonders more in the future. How about you?

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
Isaiah 45:12
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Colossians 1:16
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:3
The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
Psalms 89:11
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
