WHAT DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES

You just have to wonder what goes through people’s minds?

This morning news broke about a terrible shooting in LasVegas. You have to wonder what was going through this persons mind? What has happened in his life or mind that would propel him in this direction? This was a carefully planned attack, that was intended to take innocent lives. How much hate or hurt must this person have buried inside to motivate him taking such drastic measures?
Have you ever been so downhearted and alone something like this would ever enter your mind? Have you ever thought about hurting yourself? My blog mentioned yesterday that you are never alone. If only this man would have opened a Bible instead of opening fire.
Here is the good news, God can take this tragedy and use it for good. HOW, you ask. This tragedy not only touches the people in LasVegas, but all over the United States. Family and friends will be affiliated with these people. It will bring to the foreground how petty and unimportant grudges and family feuds can be when life is so short and unpredictable. This can bring a multitude of people together and mend relationships that have been broken for years. So I challenge you, to take the first step, extend the hand of forgiveness, and patch hurt and bleeding hearts. Take this tragedy and use it for good. All the while praying for the title wave of grieving people that will radiate from the epicenter of LasVegas.

As parents it is important for you to take your children aside and explain how evil is still present in this world. Help them navigate the myriad of emotions and questions that may arise. Sometimes, being a parent is no fun!

We as writers should not be able to phantom something like this happening. I hope we are never fuel for some unbalanced person’s fire.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Psalms 147:3
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalm 34:18
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4
