THE TIME CAPSULE

Have you ever had a part with a time capsule?

Were you asked to contribute anything? A favorite record, CD, collector’s item like a beanie baby? If you were asked to make a time capsule for you and your family, what would it contain?  Pictures of the family? A family tree? Heirlooms, like pieces of wedding dresses or ribbons from a county fair?  What would you want the world to remember of you?  Perhaps a journal or diary? Newspaper about a tragic event in your time? What do you want your children to remember about you? What is your legacy?

Did you know that most American time capsules contain a Bible? Here is another amazing fact, unlike newspapers, books and magazines, the Bible is still a viable piece of relevant text. Why, you ask? Because it is the inspired Word of God and doesn’t change or become (after over 2000 years) archaic. The message is the same, and the gift it offers is still available for the taking. Why would people put a Bible into the time capsule?  So, if for some reason, people drifted away from God they would have the opportunity to return.  Just like you do today.  It is a rare thing to be offered a free gift with no strings attached.  Just simply believe and accept Jesus as your Saviour for all times! It is the one thing that will never change, because God is the same, yesterday, today and forever! Eternity is the greatest time capsule of all! Will you be part of it?

As parents we should never leave the future of our children to other people.  It is the responsibility of their parents to give them the tools to prepare them for their future.  And not just here on earth but their heavenly future as well?  Are you leaving a Godly heritage to your children?

We as writers have the joy of making each and every one of our writings a time capsule of sorts.  With today’s mulita media exposure there is a chance of our writings to last eons.  Be careful what you put into print, it will be your legacy.

To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecclesiastics 3:1

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

II Peter 3:8

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him:

Ephesians 1:10

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.

II Corinthians 6:2
