TIME TO SAVE

Daylight saving time!

Today we ended daylight saving time! I heard one person liken it to cutting off one end of a blanket and sewing it onto the other. I suppose that is the truth of the whole idea, except, our children and grandchildren are not standing in the dark waiting for the busses. This was done in the attempt to keep them safer. The name however is misleading. We cannot save time. We can do things more efficiently and allow ourselves to get more done, but we cannot bank time, or make time stand still. Savings time or no, the clock keeps ticking, marking the days of our lives here on earth. How have you managed that time? Have you used it wisely?

The Bible says: now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Everyone of us have a set number of years, days, minutes and seconds on this earth. Only God knows what that number is , just as he knows every hair on our head. He loves us and wants us to be his children, if we will just accept him as our personal Saviour. He has given us the key to make time insignificant, obsolete if you will, because eternity is fathomless. Just as eternity in hell is fathomless, forever, without the marking of time, on and on and on….

As parents it is our responsibility to give our children all the information they need to make a decision about their eternal life. Be in the Word daily and help them learn this: thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee. Help them mark their time here on earth for good and toward a timeless eternity.

We as authors can bend time, stop time, advance time and a host of other super natural things on paper. But the reality is the fact that our days our numbered, and what we do with them will be judged, but not by the public.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:5-6
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:14
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
II Corinthians 6:2
