The shooting in Texas yesterday proves Satan is alive and well!
We keep asking the same questions we have asked since Cain killed Able. Why? Why do bad things happen to good people? The answer is always the same, but we still do not listen. Evil is alive and well, and we must guard ourselves against it! Those people in Texas suffered a tragedy that we hopefully will never experience. God was with them giving them strength to get through the trials ahead. The thing Satan still doesn’t get is that he can kill the body, and cause horrendous grief, but he can not touch their soul. That is safely in Gods hands and he welcomed his children home to glory. Those people in Texas understand that and together they will get through this horrible time. With the knowledge that they will see their loved ones again, without a single doubt in their minds. You can blame guns, video games, Isis or any other name you want to put on it, it is evil. Plain and simple and it will be with us until the end of time. Should we just give up? No! We put on the armour of God and go to war! We Christians are the last line of defence against evil. Armed with a two edged sword, God’s Holy Word.
We can try banning guns, Hollywood shoot-um-up movies, video games, but evil will always manifest itself in other ways, even using trucks, cars, and pressure cookers. The Bible says: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Think about it, the farther we get away from God, the uglier the world becomes. Remember when we were children, things like this was unheard of. But back then, we still had prayer in schools, the Nativity displayed at Christmas, and the churches of every denomination was full every Sunday. Why do bad things happen to good people? Because we let it, by turning our backs on God! Yet he is the first one we want to blame. It is time for America to wake up and like Reba’s new song states: “Come back to God!”
As parents it is important that we guide our children through the Word of God and keep them in a close relationship with Him. Sunday football with it’s own set of problems, is not as important as your child’s eternity. Get your priorities in order!
We as writers should never give evil any kind of accolades. Let us not feed anyone’s perverted mind into doing such heinous acts. We need to stay above the fray.
