CAN YOU SEE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING?

How do all those calls, not get mixed up?

Have you ever stopped to look around you and see how many people are on their cell phones?  How is it possible that the person’s call next to you doesn’t get mixed up with yours?  What keeps them straight?  And what about television programs?  How come they do not mix up into one colorful ball of cosmic goo?  Have you ever tried to squint into the air and see if there are streams of dialog coming down from the satellites that are orbiting the earth? What if that penetration of our earth’s atmosphere was causing global warming?  Would you be willing to go back to land lines?

Oh how things get put on the other foot when it benefits us. Nothing will stand in the way of what we want and what is convenient for us.   What happens to the dialog when you hang up?  Does it still float around the earth until it dissipates? Does it leave an impression on anything, or is gone forever? I know some conversations can be retrieved from a memory device, but where does it go if it isn’t recorded?  Where do the words you utter to someone, go after they hear them?  How is it possible for more than one person to hear those words?

You have no problem believing the wonders of modern technology, which when it hic-ups you all just about have  heart attacks. But you don’t believe an Omnipotent God can speak the world into existence. His Word has lasted since the beginning of time. God said: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. When he says it, it is so. His written Word, which was inspired by Him, has lasted over five thousand years, beginning with the writings of Moses. Stop and think where you and I would be without a loving God, who’s Word has always been, and will last forever!

As parents we need to keep our children grounded.  Split their recreational time between reading, good old fashion books, with their game playing, i.e. electronics. If we would have a hic-up with technology, it will be an easy transition for them back into the world of literature.

We as authors sometimes downplay the wonder of the world of technology we live in.  Face timing alone is a marvel in itself.  But the wonders of God’s creation will never be matched.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalms 119:89

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

I Peter 1:25

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Isaiah 40:8

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Psalms 12:6-7
