SPIRIT DAY!!

Cheer one another on!

In many schools across the country, Friday is considered spirit day.  The school colors are usually worn to show unity in spirit and encourage the team toward victory.  Everyone gets involved, and excited about the upcoming game.  Good luck, and pats on the backs, are reverberated through the school halls the whole day long. Why do the schools embrace this practice? Because they want camaraderie throughout the students, making everyone part of the action, and part of the win or loss. This type of practice should extend to other events in school, like the chess club tournaments, spell and math bowl etc… It is a proven fact that creating positive affirmations are paramount if you wish to be successful in all things in your life. It is also important to understand … Endorphins are hormones that are produced in your brain and released in your bloodstream. Thus, spirit day is good for everyone! It will make everyone feel better about themselves, their fellow students and the upcoming game.

In life every day should be spirit day. We should encourage one another in large and small things.  We also should encourage ourselves, releasing those same endorphins in our own bloodstream to make our day better. It is also proven, one way to release those endorphins is to smile! That’s right, a simple smile will release the feel good neurotransmitters dopamine, endorphins and serotonin are all released when a smile flashes across your face as well. So smile at yourself every morning, then smile at others throughout the day.  You will being doing others, and yourself a favor!

As parents we need to be our children’s cheering section.  If they bring home a bad paper, encourage them to do better next time, while praising them for the ones they got right this time. A little praise goes a long way, just as discouraging remarks can devastate.  It takes 100 affirmations to make up for one disheartening remark. Let’s cheer our children onto greatness and success!

We as writers can decimate a character with heartless comments and innuendoes.  Never let this cross over into your real life, be an encourager!

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
