GLOBAL WARMING

It is just a few words

From the beginning of time, God has ruled the universe, the day and night, and the weather. Man, in his arrogance thinks he has something to do with it.  He thinks, in his puffed up ego, that whatever he says or does will have a profound effect on things. I am not suggesting that we should not be good stewards of the things God has given us. But when you see the force of a tsunami, hurricane or tornado, do you really think we had any impact on such events? God caused the great flood, which every civilization in the world has in their history. We are all sitting in the deep freeze, and complaining about the crummy weather. We complain if it is too hot, too cold, too windy or too rainy. Nothing seems to make us happy. We need to realize everything happens for a reason, and in its own season. God has things under control, and a reason for everything he allows to happen.

We are just as delusional if we think Satan is not alive and well and causing havoc here on earth. He loves nothing better than to do whatever he can to turn people away from God.  Blaming God for all their misfortunes, physical, mental, and financial. We often hear people say, “Why is God doing this to me?” When they can’t pay the rent, or their car breaks down, or lack of anything else. It is never their own fault, or that of happenstance, it has to be of God.  Funny, how they never think to thank him when things are going well, in fact he never even enters their minds.

Something we need to realize is that only good things come from God:  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:1

God only wants what is best for you, which is why he sent his son to earth to die for the sins of man. To heal the chasm, that by sin, separated us from spending eternal life with our heavenly father. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

As parents we need to teach our children not to try to blame God for all that befalls them. But to run to him for refuge when trouble does come calling. The Bible is full of the wonderful promises God has for his children, to never leave them, and to lift them on wings of eagles. Rejoice in the Lord Always!

We as authors can follow all the popular thoughts of the day, about nuclear war, global warming, financial collapses, and ominous plagues. But at the end of the day, it is all under God’s control, and to think otherwise is foolishness.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Genesis 8:22

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

Job 37:5-6 38:28-30

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Psalms 147:16-18

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ecclesiastes 3:1
