STAIRWAY TO SUCCESS

How high will you climb this year?

Many of us have made New Year’s resolutions to achieve greatness; or some would say success. How you go about achieving that accomplishment is as important as the levels of your success.  It is said, behind every great man, is a great woman.  I have also heard it said behind every great person, is a network of support. It is very important that the rungs of your ladder to success is not made of people you have stepped on while you are trying to climb to the top.  No one ever gets to be great or accomplished by themselves.  It may take a great secretary, bookkeeper or maybe even a driver who gets you places on time.  You never get their by yourself, and it is very important that you acknowledge those little people each and every step up you make.  Unless you type every one of your own briefs, proposals, speeches, etc…, you didn’t do it on your own!

Then there is the matter of how you measure success and the price you had to pay to achieve it.  A broken family, disgruntled employees, failed business partnerships? What do you  call successful?  Is it a certain amount of wealth, prestige, or notoriety? Everything is relevant in life, and what you think you want or consider as successful may just be stuff.  You may be very respected and wealthy already, and don’t even know it.  Does your family love you? Do you put a roof over their head and food on the table?  Do they have shoes and clothes, and a vehicle to take them places?  Do they look to you as a moral compass in the family? Then I would say you don’t give yourself enough credit, because you are already a very wealthy person.  But there is one ladder you should always strive to reach the top of, and that is the stairway to heaven.  That is only possible through the blood of Jesus Christ, and one day we will all be expected to climb that stairway.  Being able to stay is another matter, it depends on how successful you were obtaining salvation. That is the greatest success of all.

As parents we need to teach our children, that their success should never be gained on the back of someone else.  Be constantly aware and grateful for any and all those who helped you achieve your goals, it they be studying for a test or graduating from college.  Always be thankful for the help you receive along the way.

We as writers gain success through our own life experiences. Our gratitude should be expressed any way we can, sometimes in a simple dedication.  It will mean the world to those who helped you.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Romans 12:3

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Luke 12:15

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Proverbs 28:20

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Genesis 28:12
