Sometimes communications are strained.
I find it amazing that the world only has communication with God, when they want to blame Him for something! A lost child, financial ruin, school shootings, and anything else bad in their life. “If he is a loving God, why does he let bad things happen?” Is a quote I have heard over and over! One of my favorite poems answers this question.
WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED
Author: Annie Johnson Flint
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
many a burden, many a care.
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
The truth is Satan rules the earth. This is his time of being the prince of the air. The air being his domain over the earth, and over sickness, poverty and anything else that is bad, even death. Did you ever ask yourself why every civilization on earth have recorded in their history a great flood? There were no communication between isolated parts of the world, yet their history all correspond about the great flood. The rain we had the past few days have been devastating, people loosing businesses, homes, cars, and property damage that will take time and money to repair. The damage a few days of rain caused during Katrina, Sandy, Ike, are just a few examples of the havoc rain can cause. Yet you doubt that God caused a great flood to cover the world to purge it of the blatant sinfulness that was running rampant. Satan being the great imposter, likes to mimic God, and loves to cause tragedy in people’s lives.
God promised, with the symbol of a rainbow, never to destroy the whole world with water again. He also promised to send His son as a way for us to be cleansed from sin, so He wouldn’t have to purge the whole world from sin again. He has given us free will to believe on Him or not. He will stay the hand of Satan, if he tries to go too far, but then and only then. He has given him free rein on earth, and the only lifeline we have against Satan is through Jesus Christ. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
We live in the Devil’s domain and he will do everything he can to turn us away from the Lord. Sometimes the way he chooses is not bad, but it may be a windfall. You could get a promotion at work, busy with kids and their sports, or winning the Lottery, anything he can use to take you away from your faith and your faithfulness to God. You always have to be on your guard and be in constant communication with God. Some people will say, God has abandon me!” But I say to you, “He is not the one who moved! He is found the same place he has always been.”
As parents we should teach our children to take everything to God in prayer. To have a daily conversation with Him, and even ask Him how his day is going. A personal relationship with Him is what he wants more than anything else. Ask for daily forgiveness of any sin that we all inadvertently make. He is always there for us, waiting and listening!
We as authors only wish we could put down on paper what we see with our eyes. The beauty of a sunset, or the devastation of a flood. We are poor translators of the majesty of God’s wonders. Communication is the key in writing. Getting the idea through to the reader. The same can be said of our communication with God. To get the ideas through to us he gave us his writings to commune with us. It has been a best seller for thousands of years, and it is still as fresh as the time it was written!
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephesians 2:2
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews 2:14
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
John 12:31
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
