Who gets to decide what is fair?
We are in a time when the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Big money is backing a movement in this country, which will take away our second amendment rights, as law-abiding citizens, to protect ourselves. This is a very controversial topic coming on the tail of another school shooting. Our hearts are broken over the loss of these innocent lives, and the grief their families are going through.
I got a post on Facebook which states that 11 teens are killed every day because they are texting while driving. I checked it to make sure it is true. It is, which makes it 4,015 kids per year die because of their cell phones. The one fact it didn’t include is how many other people did they kill at the time of their deaths? That is more than all the school shootings put together ever!
James Comey of the FBI has stated that ISIS now has a presence in all fifty states and there are 35 official training camps here in the United States. They are armed to the teeth, and being trained to kill us, recruiting young impressionable kids every day.
Now the question has come as to what is fair, and what is not. Is it fair to take the guns away from law-abiding citizens, who only want to protect themselves and their families, while people who are here illegally not only have guns, they want to kill us with them. They are talking about leaving us defenseless, while allowing others to commit murder, then run to a sanctuary city for safety. This is fair?
Should we outlaw cell phones to keep our children safe from being stupid while driving? Should we outlaw guns, so only the criminals and radicals who what to kill us have them? Should we outlaw polygamy families, but pay for every child given birth to an unwed mother? What is fair, and what is not?
Unfortunately it is a few men and women who represent us in Washington who get to decide these things for us. If we sit by silently and never voice our opinions on any of these matters, the outcome is our own fault. Write letters, make calls, stand up for whatever it is you believe in, but don’t cry over what is fair and what is not, if you sit by and let whatever happens, happen. No, life is not fair, but you may be able to tip the scales over to at least being represented, by giving them your opinion. Let your voice be heard!
As parents we need to teach our children about life. It will not always be fair to them. They may be passed over for a promotion at work or school when they deserve it more than any other. That doesn’t mean we can’t love life and live it to the fullest. Teach them not to mumble and grumble, but to stand up for their rights, and what they believe in.
We as authors can use our abilities to bring questionable things out into the light. To be fair and honest, which are rare commodities in today’s world. Use our voices to lift up the underdog and tear the blindfolds off the lawmakers of today, so they can see clearly the ramifications their decisions can have on the American people.
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
I Timothy 1:9-10
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
