Some laws you can break. It seems today, rather than uphold the law, we try to bend it, twist it and get out of obeying it. Many riots have been staged because someone broke the law and suffered the consequence, which others thought was unfair. The very laws that are in place to keep us safe, seem harsh when you go against them. To some people compliance is for everyone but them. Rules and laws do not pertain to them, they are above the law. People like this come from every walk of life, and think they are too good to be constrained by laws or what they think are petty rules. The outrage happens when they defy the law and everyone is shocked at the results of that defiance. Where are the parents before that happened? Why weren’t these people taught that the rules apply to all ages, color and stations in life?
Like the law of GRAVITY. There are people who will say; “I can defy gravity with an airplane, rocket, or parachute etc., but truth be told we are all slaves to the law of gravity. If you jump off a roof you will fall and get either hurt or killed. Man-made exemptions against the law of gravity will only last so long, before you will be held under the inevitable outcome for non-compliance. It will not matter how old, young, tall short or color you are, the law of gravity is an equalizer. If you try to break this law the outcome will always be the same, you will lose.
God’s law is the same equalizer as the law of gravity. No matter you age, color, or size, if you break his laws you will suffer the consequence – death. The Bible tells us the wages of sin is death. And it is talking about both kinds of death. Because sin entered the world, death entered it also. No one will live forever, and the second death is separation from God for eternity. Like any law that is broken, there is a sentence to be paid. We will draw our last breath on this earth, which is the payment we have to make for the first death. But the second death we can avoid because the sentence has been paid in advance for us by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All you have to do is let him pay it for you by accepting him as your defender before the Judge. Compliance with the law of eternal life; accepting Christ as your Saviour. Now that is a no-brainer!
As parents we need to teach our children there are consequences to their actions. If you try to get them out of those consequences, you are doing them a great injustice. Teaching them to be responsible for what they think, say and do will help them get through life knowing what the outcome will be for breaking laws and rules. It will help them in the afterlife also, knowing that non-compliance to the laws of God, will have a very deathly outcome.
We as authors should never glorify criminals. We have no idea who will read our writings and how they will be influenced by them. Let us error on the side of caution, and make the good-guys the heroes. Give people someone to aspire too.
The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
Isaiah 24:5
They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.
Psalms 78:10
But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments, And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.
Nehemiah 9:16-17
