They work together
Have you had the flu this year? It begins with body aches, then fever, then your head swells three times its size and your ears get hot and your nose runs uncontrollably. Some of these symptoms may be exaggerated slightly but you get the picture. Your whole body gets together to fight the aliens that have invaded your immune system. The mind is telling it to boil to kill the little buggers that are not supposed to be present. Your body is a machine that is well tuned to work together to fight what is bad, and manifest what is good. The real problem comes in when your mind tells your body to do one thing, but it wants to do things its own way. There is a breakdown in communication. When that happens, things really start going haywire. Because they are not working together what would take three days to get over will take weeks and leave you lying around like a limp rag.
This is the same thing that happens when we don’t have a good communication system going on with Jesus. Our minds tell us to do one thing, but our wilfulness tells us to do another. This is why: Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Because it takes all of you (heart, soul and mind and strength) to work together and do things right. I think we all suffer from the Gospel flu, in that we don’t keep in constant contact with our Lord so we can stay working at our peak performance levels for Jesus.
As parents we need to teach our children to have a continuing dialect with our Heavenly Father. It should be something they learn from their youth watching you in your daily prayers. It is never too late to get cured of the Gospel flu, just get a shot of the Word of God, He makes all things better!
We as authors love to create drama in our stories, often times have someone sick and no one knows why. Then the handsome young Doctor finds the cure at the last moment. Well, life can be like that if the one you rely on for the cure is the Great Physician! His Word is a wellness manual, go ahead, look for the cure!
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Jeremiah 30:17
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
