God can use you.
Today I went to a Mission that was founded in 1692, as a series of 24 Missions started by the Jesuit missionary Father Kino, who traveled throughout Northern Mexico and Southern part of the U.S., spreading the gospel of Christ. This Mission was constructed in 1783 and is still an active church which has services three times a week and three times on Sunday.
For a brief time in the 1860’s the church was dormant and fell prey to people on the way to the gold fields in California. Building fires to keep warm, soot covered the interior paintings on the walls and ceilings, making them unrecognizable. But the people came back to worship when another pastor came and has been active ever since. The careful cleaning and restoration of the interior of the sanctuary and the statuary revealed the dedication of artists and the sculptors. The building stands as a faithful witness to the Missionaries, parishioners, (Native Americans, Mexicans and Americans) and the people who are diligently restoring the building, now on the National Historic Register as the Mission San Xavier. But more than all that, it was their faithfulness to Jesus Christ that kept the doors open all this time.
What are you faithful in believing or doing? When we are no longer on this earth, what will the ones who come behind us say about us? Were we faithful to anyone or anything? Were we faithful in our marriage or in our beliefs? Did we dedicate ourselves to a standard of living taught to us by our parents and grandparents, or have our moral compasses lost their needles? He wants to use us to be his faithful servants, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for this is the greatest commandment.
This one thing I know beyond a shadow of a doubt is that God is faithful. He never changes, and He is faithful in His love for us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. AMEN!
As parents we need to teach our children what it is like to be faithful. It can be as a Sunday school teacher, a nursery worker, support of missionaries, or faithful to attend church every Sunday, but teaching by example is the best way for them to learn.
We as authors must be true to a story plot. We have to carry it through to the end, being faithful to the characters to have a successful outcome. The same is true in our own lives, being faithful and true to our belief in Jesus Christ to have a successful outcome of our lives!
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful
I Corinthians 4:2
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Proverbs 28:20
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:10-12
