MATURE FAITH

It grows if fed.

Being a new Christian means you have to learn things about the Bible, and learn to live the way the Bible tells you. God never told us it would be easy, He just told us to trust and obey. The more we trust in what we read in the Bible, and realize that God is helping us through some of our trials and tribulations, our faith grows a little. Whether God delivers us from something difficult, or gives us the strength to go through it, that choice is up to Him. A lot of people quote the saying ‘God never closes a door that he doesn’t open window,’ which is truer than the people who are quoting it realize. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Because of this promise we should accept His choice for our path graciously, knowing that His way is always best. When life is easy, we don’t really make much progress with our faith, but when we go through adversities our faith will grow! We live life pressing forward, but we learn and understand by looking at what we went through behind us.

The Bible says that God refines Christians through trials, like gold is refined through fire. It is when we come through these trials that we grow and our faith matures. We must always remember, God’s ways are not our ways, and God’s timing is not our timing.  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

As parents we need to help our children look back at times they found hard, and help them realize, it was their faith that brought them through those times. The more we teach our children to trust God with their daily lives, we will watch them grow in faith right before our eyes. The more faith you learn, the less you worry, knowing God will bring us through safely to the other side.

We as authors have faith that in the stories we write some person will be touched in an emotional way. We want to write stories that move people, and they can relate to. A little bite of reality always helps people realize that this life is easier lived with help from above. But we must have faith to believe it, and to accept God’s help on a daily basis.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalms 23:4

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Ephesians 3:17

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Colossians 1:23

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke 6:48

 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 17:20
