CAST THE FIRST STONE

How perfect are you?

I can remember my mother saying, “Nothing would surprise me”, and I used to think it was a rather cynical way of looking at things. But after listening to the people in the political arena today I can honestly say, I now know what she meant. Since the first lie was told by the serpent, in the Garden of Eden, lying has been the most effective tool of evil in the world. It is always accompanied with enough truth to make it enticing, but in the end it is all lies. I am not siding with either political party, but rather with the youth of this country, and what they are seeing and hearing today. Whenever you have a person in the place of authority, who gets up on a soapbox and entices people to riot, hate, and do harm to others, there is something deeply wrong with the moral fibers of this country. Never in the history of this country have I seen such poor behavior. It is if they are spoiled children who don’t get their way and are having tantrums. They preach tolerance, but have none whatsoever. They say they are for the people, but if you did not vote along their political lines, they call you hillbillies and idiots. I am left completely baffled at this point as to how we are supposed to instill in our children any loyalty to a country whose people in political offices behave in this manner.

I suppose this should not surprise me, much like the statement my mother used to make, as people have even tried to change the Bible to fit their own agendas. They say they are trying to make it more understandable, (which must make us some type of idiots) and remove what they find offensive, like God having any gender. So what point am I trying to make? It’s quite simple, the Bible says;  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: Matthew 15:19 I want you to be sure to pay attention to the first part of this statement. For out of the heart, in other words, a politician cannot stand up there and speak in such hateful statements about anyone, unless he holds those feelings in his heart. If you are an American, regardless of your political affiliation, what’s being said by politicians today should be alarming, and the cause of great concern for you and your children, and the future of this country. I am an advocate of political debate, I am not an advocate of hatemongering, name-calling, and disrespect for the offices held by the leaders of this country.

If any of you have noticed this blog is being posted very late, as this has weighed very heavy on my heart. If your child was caught at school speaking the rhetoric we are hearing from the politicians today, they would be suspended. There are even laws in this country today that protect people from hateful slander. But somehow the politicians think they are above the law, and evidently they are because they are never held accountable for the words that come out of their mouths.

If we let hate be the driving force of this country, we are setting ourselves back at least 100 years. We are so busy criticizing and trying to tear down those who were voted into the place of authority, that we feel no outrage in the fact that 67 people lost their lives on the streets of Chicago, or the fact that the news media disregarded the fact that the Korean war veterans bodies were finally brought home to rest, giving those families peace of mind at last. We have prided ourselves on electing people voted into office by the people. It is one of the last things in this country that the public still has control over, and our wishes are granted. The people have spoken, now let it run its course, and respect the office. This is United States of America, these are not just words but a fundamental belief of, United we stand and divided we fall. Do you hear the foundation of this country cracking? Not a single shot will have to be fired to bring this country down if we do not reunite ourselves.

As parents it is up to us to teach our children the moral standards on which this country was built. To teach them the Pledge of Allegiance, and what it means, not just something of idle rhetoric. Teach them about the brave men and women of this country who have fought for, and even died for, the freedom we have in this country. Teach them to never take that freedom for granted, as it came at a very high price. Teach them to honor and respect the flag and Constitution of this great country, which is being chipped away at day by day, by those who would rather control us, than lead us. Play an active role in what goes on in their schools, making sure they are acting constitutionally correct not just politically correct.

We as authors, will either be part of the problem, or part of the cure, in the breakdown of being a United nation. We can make our heroes and heroines, proud, flag-waving Americans, and should not be apologetic of them, or their stand. Authors are the first and last stand of what is right, if we are bold enough to print the truth. It is time for us to be constitutionally correct, and not politically correct anymore. We need to stand proud and United of our flag, and our nation. If anyone that is in this country finds our flag, or moral constitution, offensive, feel free to find a country that is more to your liking, and less offensive to you. For United we stand as Americans!

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.

John 8:6-11

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Matthew 12:33-37
