“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” In a reference to the eventual U.S. military response he declared: “We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them. “Quote made by President George Bush, 9/11/01 9:00pm. This is part of the speech president Bush gave from the oval office 12 hours after the attack on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11 2001.
It was a clear Tuesday morning when the American Airline Boeing 767 jet boarded its passengers at 8:45 AM, being freshly fueled with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel took off, never dreaming the short flight would end up crashing into the north tower of the World Trade Center. The 80th floor of the 110-story sky scraper was left burning around the gaping hole the jet had left when it crashed into it. The people in the plane were killed instantly along with many on the 80th floor leaving people trapped in the higher floors above. They began instantly evacuating both of the trade towers, but only had 18 minutes to do so before the second Boeing 767 slammed into the 60th floor. That collision caused a massive explosion that rained down burning debris on the streets below, and there was no doubt in anyone’s mind then that these were deliberate collisions and America was under attack.
The media scrambled to get pictures of the burning building, but I don’t think they’d reamed of the events that were about to unfold in front of their faces. Both towers would eventually come down in a pile of rubble, taking with it the lives of over 3000 people. We will never know how many million people sat in front of their televisions in disbelief and watched the horror unfold in front of their eyes. Because of the age of mass media and the incredible capabilities of the modern cell phones, there are innumerable photographs and movies of the heinous acts that were carried out that day. Just when we thought things could not get any worse American Airlines flight 77 circled Washington DC ending its flight in the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters at 9:45 am. It was only 15 minutes after this that the first trade center fell to the ground. All the jets used in the attack on September 11, 2001 were bound for California, all caring their maximum supply of jet fuel. 110 people in the Pentagon died along with the 64 people on the plane. The last of the four for planes took off from Newark international Airport, again its destination was California, only to be hijacked by four terrorist armed with fire extinguishers taking over the cockpit. This plane was delayed before takeoff and because of that some of the passengers were phoned by their loved ones about what was taking place in New York and in Washington. This left no doubt in the people’s mind on that plane that their flight would end in a similar fate. Amongst them it was decided they would not be the cause any of American deaths because of this terrorist attack, and they decided to fight the hijackers. They knew full well that they, and everyone on that plane was facing death, but they still took a stand and the plane crashed in a rural field in Western Pennsylvania killing all 45 people on board. Some of the people on that flight were able to call loved ones and bid them a final farewell while fighting for the country they loved. The destination of this plane was unknown perhaps the White House, or nuclear power plants, but clearly the death toll would’ve been much higher had they reached their target.
This attack was carried out by Islamic terrorist, financed by Osama bin Laden, and very well-orchestrated. It was said it was in protest of America’s support of Israel, and America’s involvement in the Persian Gulf War. America has always stood for freedom, and has always come to the aid of any oppressed country. It has been 17 years since this fateful day in American history, and new beautiful monuments have been erected in the places of these tragedies. It has been done so we do not forget the lives that were lost, and the message that was sent from the Islamic terrorist to this country, their intent of taking this country over by force or by infiltration. Is America’s memory so short that we are now hosting camps, training terrorist to kill us within the borders of this great nation? Kidnapping and training children to do their dirty work, only to have a liberal judge set the perpetrators free. Wake up America, least we forget their promise to kill the infidels! Do we think that letting them be elected to the political offices in this country is going to change their minds of that?
As parents we owe it to our children to keep them firmly ensconced in God’s Holy Word. To keep the Commandments, and to love the Lord thy God with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their mind, and with all their strength. Not to let the climate of today’s political atmosphere sway them from their belief in God. Political correctness may be the death of this nation, don’t let it be the death of your child’s eternal salvation.
We as authors, are now standing on the front lines in the fight for America’s freedom. Do not be part of the people trying to change America’s history to something that is benign and disregards the blood soaked earth beneath it. Write about the dedication of the founding fathers to give us all liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and religious freedom to worship the God this country was built on. ONE COUNTRY UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE! The country bonded together through the tragedy of 9/11 is hardly recognizable today in the political arena. Be part of the cure not part of the problem! LEST WE FORGET! The nearly 3000 that lost their lives in the World Trade Center, the 343 firefighters, the 37 Port Authority police, 23 New York city police, and the 10,000 people that were injured. NEVER FORGET!
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
(For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9, 12-17
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastics 12:13-14
