GOOD NEWS!

Don’t you wish you could turn on your radio or television and hear a little good news?

 

More people were shot yesterday out of ignorance and selfishness. The shooter didn’t agree with today’s politics, so that man shot innocent people. This song mimics my sentiments about this :

I rolled out this morning
Kids had the mornin’ news show on

Some senator was squawkin’ ’bout the bad economy
It’s gonna get worse you see, we need a change in policy
There’s a local paper rolled up in a rubber band
One more sad story’s one more than I can stand
Just once how I’d like to see the headline say
“Not much to print today, can’t find nothin’ bad to say”, because
Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town
Nobody OD’ed, nobody burned a single buildin’ down
Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain
We sure could use a little good news today

Well, I have good news! That’s right good news! That is what the word gospel means! It is good news that Jesus didn’t die in vain! He rose again, and guarantees everlasting life!
We as parents need to spread a little good news every day to our children. It can be in a prayer over food, or a simple song you sing, or play on the radio. How about ‘Jesus loves me’, or ‘Jesus loves the little children.’ ? What is being sung or played at your house? What are the lyrics of the songs they hear? Is it GOOD NEWS?

As writers, we aren’t about to rewrite the Bible. But, is what we write dark and hopeless?

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that published peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that published salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!       Isaiah 52:7
