“You better be home before the street lights come on!”

This was the mantra my parents would say to us kids. We knew the rules, and knew the consequences of breaking those rules. We also knew on Sunday, we should be up and dressed, with our faces washed and our hair combed. No questions asked . This was not considered a punishment or a hardship, it was the norm. We never missed a Sunday. We also went to Vacation Bible School in the summer. We considered that a treat. Both my parents were Sunday School teachers. Mom still sings in the choir at 98 years old.
I have a goodly heritage. I was raised to go to church, honor God, my parents, and my elders. Live by the golden rule. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for the redemption of sin. The question I must ask is, what am I leaving my children? What are you leaving yours?
Are we as parents leaving a goodly heritage to our children? It isn’t too late! Let your children see you praise the Lord! Let them know all good things come from him, and show gratefulness. Be faithful, and don’t make excuses on Sunday ! Leave them a goodly heritage!

We as writers are leaving a heritage in our writings. Is it something we will be proud of when read by our ancestor’s ?

Psalms 16:6-6

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, yea, I have a goodly heritage . I will bless the Lord who hath given me council: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is my right hand. I shall not be moved.
