Today is a rainy gloomy day.
It is the kind of day that makes it hard to be happy and upbeat. It is almost as though I have a solar battery, and my charge is running low. I should be elated my flowers are being watered, and the temperature is down. So, what makes me feel so lethargic? Is it the weather, or is this a feeling of my choosing? I need to look at the blessings in my life. Like the falling rain, God showers me with them all the time. My home, children grandchildren, and I have friends and a great church I attend. I can worship in a country that guarantees this as a freedom. When I start counting, the blessings go on forever. Suddenly I am happier, lighter, and the spring has returned to my step. I want to sing and laugh!
We as parents need to teach our children to stop and find things in their life to be thankful for, even when they are sad. Teach them to sing praises. To sing with the joy of living. To sing from their heart and soul!
We as writers often become discouraged because of disappointments. Enjoy every moment of your writing, it is a choice!
I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
