BUT A MEASURE TO BE FILLED
Do you feel as though sometimes life just wears you down by this simple fact that the daily routines become laborious? Do you feel drained and unfulfilled that what you do, or your worth is not appreciated? You are not the first, nor will you be the last to feel this way. It is common for people who suffer the daily routines of life to search for something that will fill the void that has been left by the draining of your spirit.
We can’t pour into others if our cup is empty. The daily routines of life can wear you down or drain your cup, so you get tired and discouraged. That can cause depression, anxiety, anger, and worry when you let this happen.
Unfortunately, many people seek earthly pleasures to fill that void, such as drinking, drugs, body art or relationships outside their marriage vows, to make them feel special, all to no avail.
The way to refill your cup is to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. Something as simple as a multivitamin can give you more energy. Exercise can produce endorphins which can raise the level of your satisfaction. Many of you are saying I don’t have time for exercise or anything else for myself. Maybe the answer to this is by combining several things together to help bring you contentment and peace. You can get up a half hour early to meditate, read your Bible and count your blessings. Maybe go for a walk in the early morning when the world is still just waking up and appreciate the beauty that God has surrounded you with and enjoy the silence that can only be shared with God. Or perhaps you could wear a headset and listen to Bible on tape or Christian music or perhaps a Christian devotional. These are several ways to begin the process of refilling your cup.
It is important to surround yourself with people who will lift your spirits. If you have friends who are discontented in their marriage, their jobs, their lot in life, it can affect you two ways. The first way is by tearing down the walls of your contentment and satisfaction with your life. The second way is that you can fill them with hope, and with the assurance that God loves them more than anyone else on earth. Suggest a Bible passage that would reaffirm this message to them. Romans 5:8 pops into my mind.
As you are driving your kids to school, soccer, baseball or any other activity they may be in, turn on Christian music to uplift your spirits during the hectic drive. When you are alone in the house sing to the Lord, no one can hear you but the One you’re singing to. The Bible says: a merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Proverbs 17:22 so make sure you laugh every day and be happy in the little things.
As parents our demeanor during the day will affect our children’s day. How we send them off to school, play time, or sports will affect how they interact with others. Don’t be afraid to praise the Lord for little things; “praise the Lord I got a good parking place, praise the Lord the light stayed green”. Finding happiness in the little things is a reason to praise the Lord. Be thankful in everything.1st Thessalonians 5: 18, so make sure you pray before every meal.
We as authors are guilty of making the things of this world seem alluring and satisfying when the fact is it leaves people empty and hollow. As a Christian author I want to always uplift and challenge people to be better and to do better. With the hopes that this will give them fulfillment and contentment, that comes from knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior.
